Mondial du Théatre – Let’s Meet in Monoco
The World Festival of Theatre, in the principality of Monaco, will host all the theatre lovers.
From 17 to 26 August 2009, Mondial du Théatre will bring together in Monaco 24 theatre groups from 5 Continents. Every evening there will be three performances on different stages of the Principality.
The 29th Congresse of AITA/IATA asbl will be held in Grimaldi Forum from 20th to 22nd of August.
This year the Festival Village will be held in a different venue: prestigious Auditorium Rainier III will be the meeting point for Congress delegates and actors of the theatre groups.
Every day there will be workshops and colloquia. There will be a Colloquia in the morning from 10 :00 to 12 :30, lead by Aled RHYS-JONES, Istvan PINCZES (theatre director and professor), and Morten HOVMAN (theatre director and advisor). In the afternoon from 14 :30 to 17 :00 there will be workshops by Mikhaél Choumachenko, Gytis Padegimas and Allison Williams.
Entrance to the performances is free of charge. The colloquia and workshops are also open to the public to attend.
The traditional and very popular Red and White Evening will take place on Friday, 21st of August at the Salle des Etoiles du Sporting Club d’Eté.

The Mondial du Theatre will next be held in 2013. The AITA/IATA World Amateur Theater Festival is held every other year and every other Festival is held in Monaco.
This year the World Festival will be held in Tromso, Norway – see the front page of this website. And the next World Festival will be held once again in Monaco.
Participating theatre groups are put forward for selection by their country’s AITA/IATA National Centre. A list of National Centre’s are here on this website:
