Symposium for Artists, Cultural Scientists and Pedagogues

8th to 12th October, 2008

in Lingen (Ems) – Germany

 

 

The Theaterpädagogisches Zentrum der Emsländischen Landschaft e.V. (TPZ / Theatre Pedagogical Centre) and the European Centre Européen of AITA/IATA asbl (International Amateur Theatre Association) will host the 4th International Festival of Senses.

 

TheatreArtFestival “Making Art!“

Theatre, dance and circus groups with people of different types of disabilities are invited to take part. The fields of music and film will also be represented at the festival. Priority will be given to groups with an interdisciplinary and integrative approach. Multi-generation groups are of special interest. The participants will have the opportunity to exchange ideas and experience and to learn together in workshops.

The groups will be granted free accommodation, meals, free entrance to the performances and workshops, as well as transportation from a nearby airport to Lingen (Ems) and back.

 

Symposium “Cultural Work with Disabled Persons“

In the framework of the theatre festival a conference will take place which will deal with the following   issues:

- What function do the arts have in connection with social participation?

- Which approaches can be found for the cultural work with people with and without disabilities taking into account the conflict between pleasure in acting and artistic requirements?

- How effective is artistic work in the development of individual skills in disabled people? 

 

The conference is directed to artists, theatre pedagogues, social workers, teachers, etc

 

Conference languages are German and English.

Registration deadline for the conference: 30th June, 2008
