ARTISTIC DEVELOPMENT COMMITTEE
Our committee exists to strengthen and enhance the artistry in the programs and stage productions of national centers and members. We’re dedicated to assisting the membership by
- helping to plan the artistic elements of AITA/IATA’s major festivals (productions, workshops, symposia, breakout groups, etc.),
- helping to publicize the artistic work of AITA/IATA’s practitioners through timely news reporting and annual artistic publications,
- helping to devise new and challenging strategies for artistically stimulating programs and activities, and
- helping to coordinate AITA/IATA’s artistic resources by broadening communication linkages among the membership.
Our committee is presently composed of five theatre experts, each recommended by his or her different AITA/IATA region, but each of whom functions as an individual and not as a delegate from a region, national center or individual organization. We welcome others who wish to join and assist the work of the Artistic Development Committee, and encourage them to contact any of the committee members about potential membership.
At present, we’re a recently-formed committee operating under a temporary mandate from the AITA/IATA Congress, carrying-out the above-mentioned tasks. We expect our complete charge will be finalized, and our status as a Standing Committee recognized by the membership at the 2009 Mondial.
