AITA/IATA welcomes a new Associate from Shanghai, China – the Shanghai Student Theatre League who are based at Fudan University.

David Wang of J & D Culture Inc. approached us initially on behalf of the Fudan University Art Education Centre who are keen to take their theatre to international events.

We understand that the University theatre group were founded in 1925 and have created two performances around this event and the life of students on the Campus of the University.

We look forward to learning more about their work.

The Ryan Foundation, India approached AITA/IATA and asked to join as an Associate and we welcome them.

The Ryan International Group are well established in India in the field of education and provide ‘academic excellence ‘ to their students in more than 135 schools across the country and abroad.

The Ryan Foundation believe that performing arts is a “sensitive, creative and liberal medium of expression which helps to establish a bond of friendship and cooperation among nations.” And to meet that aim, they established in 2000 the annual International Children’s Festival of Performing Arts in Delhi.

AITA/AITA asbl is delighted to welcome the first Associate to join from Viet Nam. It is the Lê Ngoc Theatre Troupe based in  Ha Noi, Vietnam.

They were founded by a National Artist and this year took part in the Toyama Performing Arts Festival. The group is for young graduates, translators, drivers, students and aims to popularise drama.

We have been alerted to the SDEA Conference to be held in Singapore, 30 June – 1 July 2017.

This is their fourth International Theatre Arts Conference and the call for proposals is now open. Advance booking for the conference will open in November 2016.
